Monetize The North is preparing to pursue an official House of Commons petition to bring national attention to Canada’s exclusion from TikTok Shop, the TikTok Shop Affiliate Program, and the TikTok Creator Rewards Program.
Our goal is to use the official petition process to demonstrate public support, raise national awareness, and help move this issue into a formal conversation where it can no longer be ignored.
WHY OFFICIAL MATTERS
This issue deserves formal action.
We commonly see petitions collecting handwritten or online signatures. While those petitions can show public interest, they are not the same as an official House of Commons petition.
An official petition must follow Canada’s parliamentary process, including specific rules, review, and sponsorship by a Member of Parliament before signatures can officially be collected.
MTN is choosing this path because this issue deserves to be treated seriously. Our goal is to bring this issue into the national conversation, create pressure for policy change, and push for a real outcome that helps Canadians gain equal access to modern digital earning opportunities. A formal petition turns public support into recognized pressure — and gives Canadians a path to demand attention, action, and change.
