Monetize The North is a Canadian grassroots movement fighting for equal access to TikTok’s commerce and monetization ecosystem in Canada, including TikTok Shop, the TikTok Shop Affiliate Program, and the TikTok Creator Rewards Program.

We believe Canadians should not be excluded from digital earning opportunities available in other markets.

MTN exists to raise awareness, build public support, and create formal pressure so Canadian businesses, creators, affiliates, entrepreneurs, and everyday Canadians have a fair chance to participate in the digital economy.

Because opportunity should not stop at the border.

WHY WE STARTED

Monetize The North started from personal frustration and from the realization that this issue had been overlooked for far too long.

MTN was founded by a Canadian entrepreneur who, after trying every legitimate path to access TikTok Shop, still hit a roadblock. After navigating the requirements, exploring workarounds, and setting up the necessary systems, one thing became clear: it should not be this difficult for Canadians to access modern tools to sell, earn, and grow.

We should not have to jump through so many hoops for opportunities that should already be available here.

For entrepreneurs and small businesses in Canada, the barriers are already stacked high against us. Large operating costs, limited access to capital, shipping challenges, currency disadvantages, import costs, and high taxes all make it harder to grow. Being excluded from TikTok Shop and the TikTok Shop Affiliate Program adds another barrier to an already difficult landscape.

This exclusion matters even more as Canadians face a rising cost of living, unstable employment conditions, business pressure, and a rapidly changing economy.

MTN started because this issue should no longer be swept under the rug. Our frustration can no longer remain silent. If we are seeing it, feeling it, and questioning why Canada is being left behind, we know other Canadians are too.

Canadians deserve more than watching opportunity happen from the sidelines.
Someone has to raise the issue, be a voice for the people, and stand up to say, "Canada deserves access."

That someone is us. That is why Monetize The North exists.
